About
Sidequest was launched as just that: a side quest. If you're familiar with the RPG (role playing game) video game format, you're familiar with what that means. If you're not, here's a brief run down: a side quest is an optional mission separate from the primary storyline, allowing players to explore the world within the game, gain experience, and earn additional rewards.
So Sidequest is our side quest - an adventure started separately from our primary careers, mostly to pursue a passion for helping business owners get a stronger footing on their finances and operational processes, but to also gain new experiences, skills, and exposure to new ways of doing things. The end goal for us though is to make Sidequest our primary mission and bring our expertise to as many business owners as possible.
We began our secondary mission in November of 2024 by signing on to right the ship for a retina specialty group in the Pacific Northwest. Their financials were months behind, data integrity was shaky, and the owner-providers' comp was months in arrears. By the end of December we had the data on solid ground, the owners current on their comp, and financials ready for the CPA firm to prepare year end taxes. The client was happy and we felt great about that. In fact, it was a feeling never felt by us before, and one we wanted to replicate over and over.
Our Story
2008
We kicked off our careers in public accounting, starting at Deloitte & Touche in audit and then moving to KPMG’s Accounting Advisory Services group.
2013
We spent the next decade inside large, publicly traded companies, dialing in financial reporting, audit readiness, and financial planning.
2022
We shifted our focus to small, owner‑led businesses, bringing big‑company finance practices to help them get ready for their next stage of growth.
2024
We launched Sidequest to share that experience with more business owners and help them get set up for whatever comes next in their journey.
Our Vision
